September 8, 2010 will be the start of a new educational venture of higher learning at Towsend FWB Church - the Logos Bible Institute. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM in association with the Evangelical Training Association (ETA), an association of seminaries, colleges, universities and churches who are committed to providing quality training resources for teaching through the local church.                         Students who so desire will be eligible to apply for certification upon completion of course work. Classes can also be taken just for personal Bible study-without certification.
One of the  first courses to be offered is “Beyond Reasonable Doubt.”  Registration begins August 1; the deadline to register is August 25. Textbooks are $10 each. You will need to purchase a text only if you intend to apply for certification upon       completion..

Stepfamilies are all around us. One in three Americans live in a stepfamily, and more than 50% of Americans will live in a stepfamily at some point in their lives. Thirty percent of children are growing up in stepfamilies.

To survive and have a successful marriage is no easy task. Stir in children from a previous marriage, ex-spouses, ex-in-laws, and the extra baggage from previous relationships and you will realize just how different the stepfamily is. Each of these ingredients can bring with it a whole set of problems themselves that need to be dealt with.

Join Townsend Church beginning  Wednesday, September 8 at 7 PM as we explore successful, healthy, and smart stepfamilies.
