FRIDAY

Friday was just as amazing as the rest of the days - we were able to reunite with Josh and Sarah Hopkins. We tidied up my parents street and have it looking at least decluttered than it was before. We helped clean and declutter a rental property for a lady from Meadowbrook church. The church van had been filled everyday for the last three days with various supplies and driven around door to door meeting the needs of those who either didn’t know where to go to get supplies or just unable to do so. We were able to give back to Meadowbrook by cleaning up a fallen tree and a small portion of their parking lot which was still covered in mud.  That evening we took a ride to a restaurant in Asheville (Moose Cafe) for a modified home cooked meal. After packing up and cleaning a bit, it was time for our last sleep at the church but not before a group prayer led by Josh, a former pastor at Townsend.

Saturday

Saturday morning came early as the equipment guys cut out early followed by the rest of us about an hour later. The trip home was enjoyed by the ability to wash our hands without bottled water and all the sweet tea I, I mean we, could drink. No blown tires, no tickets, and no accidents = a great trip.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow we will share a small portion as there is so much to share and still much to process.  If you see someone with a blue vest on, ask them about their trip - they will be happy to share.

God bless each of you for your support, prayers, and encouragement.  A special thank you to Meadowbrook church for opening up their gymnasium, already full of supplies, allowing us to sleep and eat in safety. Thank you to our God who watched over us every step of the way, creating opportunities all of the place to share His love and for the joy which He has blessed the people of Townsend Church.
